In 2019 I found out I was expecting my third child, but the first boy, and I was so over the moon ecstatic. At my 20-week anatomy scan, I found out that he was going to have a congenital heart defect. So the Remainder of my pregnancy was high risk and full of extra appointments. When Ezekiel was born in May of 2020 I got to share a few moments with him while I was on the operating table and then they took him straight to the NICU where he was Being observed and having his heart monitored. they found that he needed an emergent coarctation of the Aortic repair. So he was hooked up to IVs all over his body and was barely eating which is when we got him his first WubbaNub which was an elephant to soothe him since he was able to eat. He spent two weeks in the NICU And was Transferred over to a Cardiac PICU at just a few weeks old he had his first open-heart surgery during his surgery they repaired his aortic arch and also repaired a Val on his heart. Once he recovered and finally got released we went to our first post-up cardiology visit where we learned that he had two more congenital heart defects. He is now eight months old and has the biggest personality ever and although this collection has grown he still clings to his very first elephant WubbaNub. Ezekiel is thriving in his own way and is getting ready for his next CHD repair at the end of this month.
