Happy 2018. As a parent/adult, it’s a common resolution to try and start the new year off on a healthy note. Whether it’s a juice cleanse, clean-eating trial or vow to give up alcohol for a little bit, it’s a tough but good goal to have. But what about the kids? They’re probably coming off of thoughtless vacation eating, too; fast-food French fries for dinner some nights (guilty!), lots and lots of sugary cider, and pastries galore. Therefore, they’re also in need of a slight dietary revamp. So, we’ve put together a collection of nutritious “after-school” snacks to get them back into swing of healthier things.

Peanut Butter Banana Protein Muffins from Wholesomelicious

Packed with protein and glazed with a peanut-butter drizzle, these treats are morning-to- afternoon winners.

Cauliflower-Crust Pizza

Okay, so this is not a recipe per se, but an absolutely amazing freezer staple. Found at Trader Joe’s, the easy gluten-free crust is delicious and barely tastes of cauliflower. It can be popped into the oven, topped with pretty much anything including your favorite tomato sauce and veggies, and then served in thin slices while playing or doing homework.

Frozen Yogurt Bark from Listotic

Frozen Chobani loaded with chocolate chips and berries, this is a brilliant, calcium-rich, fun-to- eat snack.

Magic Mushroom Caprese Salad from Cup of Sugar Pinch of Salt

It seems like cherry tomatoes are always a hit, so why not spruce them up a bit with this fanciful, creative idea.
