Heart Warrior Stories Ashley G.

My daughter Piper was born with Third-degree atrioventricular (AV) block, also referred to as third-degree heart block or complete heart block (CHB), is an abnormal heart rhythm resulting from a defect in the cardiac conduction system in which there is no conduction through the atrioventricular node (AVN), leading to complete dissociation of the atria and ventricles. She was born at 32 weeks and 2 days and weighed 4 lb 7.7 oz! She had to have a pacemaker put in when she was born. She was born at Vanderbilt Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. I am forever thankful for everything they did. She is doing great and is 7 months old now! #CHD #heartwarrior
