My granddaughter, Hallie Kate Laytart, was diagnosed with Coarctation of the Aorta at birth. Less than 24 hours after she was born she was transferred to another hospital (UK Children’s Hospital, Lexington, KY) and underwent open-heart surgery at 5 days old.
