Isley was born on 04/07/2021. She was 7 pounds 4 ounces and seemed healthy. After a few weeks she stopped gaining weight and started having trouble breathing and eating. We took her to Riley Children’s Hospital where we found out she had a large VSD which was causing heart failure. She stayed inpatient for 30 days while trying to offset those symptoms by medications. Unfortunately nothing was working and she was staying at birthweight. On 5/12/2021 she had her first surgery. Now she is 10 pounds and the happiest baby. We are awaiting her 2nd surgery which will be open heart surgery to be able to close the hole. We are so thankful for her team of doctors and nurses that helped our baby girl while helping us navigate our new diagnosis.
